Wanted: Domain Appraisal Apple.co.uk

It will be a hard one to sell this, only apple computers would probably be interested.

My two cents..

Sit tight and wait.

Despite what has been said here regarding greengrocers and other companies called apple -- IMO your ability to hold onto the name is significantly higher than a new registrant. Any domain speculator with xx,xxx to pay you for it should be in receipt of a brain to know this. Any domain speculator with xxx,xxx will be unlikely to pry himself away from the casino.

To realise the best price, there is only one potential suitor and said company have an unlimited budget. They also have an unlimited budget for legal fees and a reputation for being one of the most litigious companies in existence. This should play into the mind of a potential buyer assuming the ratio of brain to funds is greater.

IMO it would be prudent to edit your post and ask for this thread to be pulled.

Best of luck with the domain.

Alternatively, you could look at keeping the domain running as is and perhaps putting an affiliate store for those who come to you in error :)

I guess the smiley implied you were joking ;-) If not that is certain suicide.

I guess Apple don't consider you a threat otherwise they'd have already set the ball rolling.

Unless you really want to try selling, I'd carry on as you are, saves all the hassle of changing domain names, emails, business cards and so on (unless of course you are due to re-brand soon)

Your looking at a large amount of money for this name so it will be worth changing websites names etc as I can't see this going for a low amount when the keyword is one of the biggest companies around in technology at the moment.

one of the biggest companies full stop.

I believe in terms of marker cap they and Exxon constantly trading places at the top spot in the states

Could sit and wait - Or could try and get it ranking, surely it may help to sell if you have some presence on page 1.

I'd be asking an IP Lawyer who deals with domain names for their advice.

If you ask on here I am sure someone will be able to recommend someone.

How established is your company? You could sell your company including the name and setup as a new brand? Or start selling Beatles records? :) only joking as then you would be infringing.

Yeah why don't we all do that given it costs absolutely zero to set that kind of thing up and we all probably have the equipment in our attics to do that ready-to-go.

Angie has bought an orchard ! :)

Don't contact apple, go to a speclised solictor so everything is legal.

What ever you do, don't put any apple affiliate links or anything to do with apple.

The last thing you want is to contact them and then they turn around and try to sue you for trade marks.

Great advice, stay away from anything which could link the site with Apple, if you want to monetize it.. Go for Adsense.

Someone said it earlier... Remove this thread and any other threads related to this domain, take legal advice and then contact Apple.

Go for Adsense.

I'm not sure they could even use Adsense, as ads would without doubt throw up other computer/phone related ads, which Apple could use to say the domain is being used in bad faith, by promoting their competitors?

Do what you're doing now with it. At some point in the future I don't doubt Apple will wake up and come knocking on your door.

It happened with twitter.co.uk eventually.

Not sure about that.. You might actually be correct but if they want to monetize it I think Adsense would be the safest option.
