Anyone Else Get Annoyed by Twitter Handles Taken but Not Used?

UncleBob have a gogole of social media influencers, many are Twitter based and most make a killing.

There are market places where Twitter handles are privately sold for decent money too.

I hear what you are saying, but it's not that Twitter is the revenue stream. I've not heard of any success stories with "sponsored tweets", whereas I have, for instance, with Facebook suggested groups / targeted ads.

Sure, someone can get paid £xxxxxx to Tweet something, but they would also get paid that to spread the word via other means. What I mean is the people making money off of Twitter are not making it "because" of what Twitter does, it's just a channel that could be replaced.

And I had kind of assumed that 75% of people stopped using Twitter when the guardian of it, Stephen Fry, quit?

It happened to me, almost.

Somebody registered crabfoot.com and took the Twittter handle, then stopped at that. Never saw the sense of it ... but I am EPcrabfoot on Twitter as a consequence.
