Anyone Developing at the moment?

I am very easy to goad, short fuse you see. However if it means that much to you and a RESPECTED member of acorn wants to verify my business, business bank or anything else then happy to do so.

As i said before, rather than attention seeking pm me and come down to my office. All will be revealed! The ideas I have suggested were done so off the back of having success. It is easier to make money off something your interested in but I think as someone else mentioned a category killing EMD in a big niche with a little business acumen can be highly lucrative.

I would rather move on from this never been and get back to helping others.

champ, in my experience of internet forums when someone brag about their bank balance mean normally pretty penniless. i dont think you have any internet business thats more than adsense blog, if so, can you share it with us or is it a [secret]

I work full-time but use adsense/affiliates as a hobby and earn some extra income. I have about a dozen sites that actually earn me money, around £300-£400 in total a month on average.

In around 2011 it was a case of having as many sites as you could and they were easy to rank and profit from. That changed though and I've spent the last year deleting and dropping domains which I speculated on but were only useful for thin niche sites.

I'm happy to keep on those dozen sites that still earn but I know they're not going to increase in revenue any time soon as they are too specific with a limited audience.

What I'd really love, is to have a major site that I can concentrate on. The fact is multiple sites means:

*Time spread too thinly
*Site maintenance takes much longer
*More content needed
*More links needed
*Too many Twitter/Social Media accounts!

If this was focused into one site then it should mean I can use my time better and could actually have a website I'm proud of! I wouldn't really share my current sites as they are purely there for clicks and would bore the hell out of most people. It would be great to have a site I would happily share, promote, and want my friends to visit.

Of course, it's coming up with that idea, and sticking to my guns. Smaller sites are always very tempting but I'm never going to be make big money from them.

We had a custom chicken coup company contact us. They were taking 4-5 sales a day and they ranged from 100-£600 coups. They had a local guy who was manufacturing them and they just sold them on.

You could branch out and do all sorts of custom hand made coups, pens etc. I would start with a basic ecommerce template with custom logo/header either in Wordpress or Magento. If it starts earning money then you scale up, find alternative manufacturers, more bespoke website, more marketing, social interactions, competitions etc.

I don't think I've ever got to the point of being completely happy with any site, there's always something that needs improvement.

That idea of one major project is a nice one, trouble is what seems like a good idea now gets replaced by something else in a year or two and you end up with another half-finished site

Not necessarily a bad thing as the web changes fast and it's tough to stay relevant unless you're always moving on

I have got both a large main site I spent about a year on and a few small sites. The only thing is I need to make all the small sites responsive before Google makes it's changes which is going to be a pain as they were made before Responsive was really a thing

After speaking with a few specialist couriers, I've decided not to pursue the idea. The cost of shipping a fresh product and in-particular storage and re-distribution if someone wasn't able to accept delivery could represent as much as 75% of the total cost of the service.

Also, distributing a raw meat product has potentially serious implications in terms of food hygiene. The thought of being associated with a outbreak of e-coli or similar mixed with the cost of distribution is a deal breaker for me.

Thanks to those who offered encouragement, links and advice on here and privately. We're sold on the idea of selling a premium food product by subscription and we're considering other foods.

As long as it isn't what i am working on but i am on skype if you want to bounce ideas.

I am glad to hear you've dropped the sausage idea. You've looked at the real world obstacles and seen it's not worth it.

Your sausage delivery idea was not playing to the strengths of internet businesses. My preferred business model is advertising, i.e. you just take money to display an advert. That's one thing that works on the internet, just ask Google.

I like the name. There are a couple of advantages of bacon over fresh sausages that make the business more viable. Firstly, bacon keeps better without refridgeration, and secondly, it fits through your post box.

I use to have over 100 sites years and years ago making money mostly from adsense and it worked quite well, times are always changing and that model is dead unless you are a huge content site, I still constantly build new sites and see what sticks even now not unlike accelerator my rule of thumb has always been chuck it out there basic design questionable content if it pulls in 200+ unique's per month after 3 months invest some time in making it better.

No and Yes. No it's not a one off and yes its relativeily low competition and high search volume. There are millions of opportunities in my opinion. If you think the market is saturated then think again. Do you know that something like 70% of all search traffic is not for classic keyterms that even make it into SEO ranking reports. The analytics tools like ahrefs and semrush maintain data on 100+ million keyterms ONLY. There are billions of searchterms (which is why their traffic estimates are so off...one of the reasons). If you can get out of the mindset that to make adsense income you need to rank for car insurance comparison then that's good.

I cannot claim to be a genius at finding the terms, I've stumbled into them because I look for earning sites to buy so I am presented with things I would never think of trying to build a money / adsense site about. I analyse them dispassionately based purely on their merits and opportunities regardless of whether its sexy or something I am interested in. If you rank 1st on Google.com for a topic....you do well, simple as that. I would like to add that in the few months I've had the site I have tripled its daily adsense earnings by doing some SEO , redesigning the WordPress site and improving adsense placement / quantity. In summary, there are countless opportunities out there for AdSense sites. This one I am talking about gets a lot of mobile traffic (what doesnt now)...so you have to make sure it works beautifully on mobile, allow comments and social sharing, the post has a LOT of comments (including threaded replies), top tip.... its growing, organic, user-generated, passive improvement to your content thus increasing your long tail search term coverage.

Hi Murray, Very slowly in my terms. I'm ok with that. Actually adsense has nearly doubled but its such a low number its hardly anything to shout about ..but hopefully indicative. I need an order of magnitude increase in traffic. There are signs of encouragement, Analytics shows the last 30 days traffic as being higher than any of the 3 months prior. On top of that we are getting natural, unsolicitied backlinks from high traffic and high DA sites...the holy grail of SEO. A couple (examples.. not all of them) of recent ones showing in my reports:

It seems people like the design and better UI and are more likely to link to the site now. The articles we are adding have more practical info, where to go, when to go, where to stay, google map pointing etc compared to the inherited articles.

This particular web project is a bit different to all my others in that I just 'like it' and I like the domain. It didnt stack up on just the money side unless you value the domain (which I do). I think I paid a fair price. I spend very little time working on this now.
