Thought I'd give an update for the benefit of the thread...
Richard responded to my initial email probably within 5 mins or so tonight.
He quickly refunded my account with various transactions and dealt with it in a professional manner.
Something I've not experienced before at 123reg.
All I've had in the past is a lot of waiting around and then just endless lies from telephone staff.
I've been trying to close my account and sort out this mess for 6+ months now!
Obviously there are big failings at 123reg as I'm not the only one whose had big problems.
I've now been told again my account is suspended and I'm hoping this time its for real.
I wasn't offered any compensation (I did ask) or even an apology at first.
Not particularly bothered about either really but does show the sentiment of the company as a whole I think.
After I chased a little Richard did give me an apology - which I thanked him for, he did deal with my issues very quickly tonight.
He seems like not a bad guy and can't really fault him personally and obviously he is making an effort himself to put things right.
Not an easy task for anyone I would guess.
So for anyone else having problems, it might be worth sending him an email.
For me I'm hoping this is finally the end of my dealings with 123reg.
Time will tell ....
