I think quite a legitimate issues regarding Sedo have been raised over the months on the forum. I have to say, more often than not, Sedo staff have either:

- ignored the issues and failed to respond.
- mis-understood the issue and given advice that has either been irrelevant or sometimes incorrect.

This is all very frustrating and reflects badly on the company. Many of us are actively looking to other services. There is a lot collective expertise on the forum and it's a real shame that Sedo do not make the most of (mainly) valid concerns.

I know you had some dealings with Sedo, in terms of the bonus deal for exclusive members, so are you able to persuade Sedo to take up our comments more seriously?

Thanks
Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

The majority of new additions to our services come from the forums, so the entire staff do take comments from here seriously. We are also here to address questions or issues that arise. Please keep in mind that certain things may take time to develop or even find out. We haven't forgotten about it and as soon as a resolution can be reached with our technical team, I will be happy to post it here.

If something has not been fully addressed or was misunderstood, we would like to work on that. Please feel free to post any comments/questions and I will be happy to address them here.

I would also like to add that forums are great for discussing domains and how to be successful with them, but is not the best replacement for customer service. I would encourage all of you to be in contact with your account managers or our Customer Service department (at [email protected]) any time you have questions regarding Sedo's service or your accounts.

Kind regards,

Brad

Hi Zee

That's not really my point. I'm not necessarily talking about service to me, but if you look through a number of the threads on this forum and on other forums then there are quite a lot unresolved issues - mainly on other forums to be fair. However two on this forum which I feel are still outstanding are:

VAT question - http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/sedo/3667-vat-question-help-please-2.html - still unresolved

Long time for keyword verification plus suggestions - http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/sedo/10084-3-days-verification.html - no sedo comment

Thanks
Stephen.

Put that in ya pipe

I couldn't agree more with brassneck. I’ve had a host of problems which are NEVER addressed fully on the first go, it’s like they don’t read your emails or attempt to digest the information fully with out firing off a stock answer. One problem went on for 4 months and involved missing payments of up to £3500.00 at one stage, which they did not take seriously at all. I must of sent 30emails to 6 different people, rang Germany on numerous occasions and all that happened was I was just pushed from pillar to post having to explain from the beginning to numerous member of staff my problem. Everyone of them said don’t worry, leave it with me I’ll sort it blah blah blah. Got there in the end but they never compensated me for the short fall in 2 payments, the cost of ringing and chasing (for months) and lost interest on the money, which was their fault, not even a proper apology baring in mind I was pulling my hair out in the end.

Even this week it took 8+ emails just to kick of an outside escrow service (buyers request), copy below of ranting, rambling, slightly incoherent, angry email sent to finally get some action on the 12th Oct, might give you a laugh. I honestly couldn’t recommend Sedo to anyone and as soon as I get the time I’m off to NameDrive. Don’t waste your time, money and effort on these guys, like so many services they are good all the time everything is going ok but as soon as you have a problem forget it, it’s a nightmare. They all have their heads in the clouds the lot of em!

If you’d asked me 6months ago I would have been with Zee, maybe they’re just getting too big or it was just that I didn’t have a problem then.

Pete

Email to sedo:

Honestly it's like pulling teeth dealing with you. ONCE again have you received details from the buyer????????

What is the correct procedure for initiating an outside escrow sale??????? Surely it's not just sending an email, you should sharpen that up so you fill in an online form with the details you require, it's VERY unprofessional. You dont even respond with who will be looking after the transaction.

Am i dealing with the right person?????????????

You need to get your act together, your communication as a company has been terrible, ok whilst taking the money but if you have a problem god help you.

half my emails are never answered then i'm ALWAYS pushed from pillar to post with different personnel.

When i get the time i'm off and it's hallo NameDrive they are killing you on reputation.

I first sent an email about this escrow on the 7th October, i'm still chasing my tail trying to get results. I sent you the purchasers email on the 9th have you sent him an email????????

Hi Stephen,

The VAT issues work similarly to the legal issues. It is best for each user to inform themselves of the tax laws in their country and how to work within the tax laws. Just as Sedo cannot give legal advice regarding domain sales/parking, nor can we advise our clients on the best way to handle tax questions. Should you have questions about UK VAT, I would encourage you to speak with an accountant in the UK, as it does extend beyond Sedo's area of expertise.

In regards to the keyword verification problems, this is something we have been discussing for quite some time. At the moment, our technical team is working on developing a new system to ease this process. There are a couple of ideas such as having a pre-approved list of keywords or something in that direction. We are not exactly sure what the solution will be yet, but we are working on it.

If you have further questions, please let me or your account manager know.

Kind regards,

Brad
