stagnate because of domainers?
..... The Uk space is stagnate because of domainers..
Is that what the problem is, you believe and maybe rightly so, domainers at Acorn,
which looking at the Acorn threads on V2 .uk, is mainly down to me and a few others starting and keeping posts going on V2?
It certainly was not my intention to effect the marketplace for UK domains, in an adverse way.
I certainly not have enjoyed the lack of UK domain sales in the last year.
It is for others to determine why they have not been buying UK domain names.
In V1 the best .uk domains would have gone to those with the deepest pockets, resources and technology.
In V2 most domainers who hold UK domain holders and are aware of .uk would be able to protect their portfolios
whether its 10 or 10,000 domains (Nominet have offered the chance of price reductions in the proposal for portfolio holders)
and look forward to obtaining through a variety of means of registering and purchasing domains now,
to register interest in case the oldest doesn't apply and the prized .uk falls to a .me.uk that was aware of the launch
and sweep up quality domains in the free for all at the end.
Exciting times indeed for domainers.
If V2 went ahead, yes it was built for domainers who want protection of what they have and a great opportunity to acquire premium .uk domains.
Is V2 right for the UK namespace and the current registrants who don't follow Acorn,
my answer is 'no' and that is the fundamental reason I have been putting my efforts into .uk.
p.s. Bailey, good luck with the move, moving house is the 3rd most stressful think you can do first is divorce and second is being a UK domainer!
