When a web user sees a URL that they have to remember and type in to the bar then .me.uk will put them off, but if they come across the site through doing a search then i don't think they give a flying f*ck TBH.
Infact i would say a lot of web users don't even pay attenetion to the extension.

Recipe books and that but how many people searching for pasta on the net are looking to buy something ?

We're all struggling to get businesses to realise the potential of generic .co.uks let alone .me.uks, so no end user value.
