We have owned 15pprint.co.uk for around 4 years now. The domain is listed on Yahoo, MSN and Google - but has low traffic, i.e. less than 100 uniques a month.

However the site is page 1 Google for "cheap colour copying" out of 112m. Page 2 Google for "cheap colour printing" out of 35m.

Over the past 11 months it has generated over £1,800 in orders. But since June 2008 we have not give it any attention - in fact not even checked the email !!

Someone has approached me to purchase it but said its only worth £500.00 + VAT. Surely a ranked domain with great SERPS like this its worth more than that ?

1. Its making nearly £2k a year and you dont need that, you dont answer the e-mails!???

2. Why would you sell something that is generating £2k year for £500!???

Its worth a least 2.5 times its yearly profit, if you can show that put that price on it and wait, or if you really dont need the money sell for £500 and give someone a bargain!?

1. I do need it but l simply don't have the time to "run" it. I run a successful web design & development business and too be honest l need to run that business not a "small" printing one.

2. Well the guy is saying its not been checked or any order processed since June 2008 so orders may not come in again.

But to be honest l agree with you. I guess l should put together an auction and place it on Sitepoint or something.

what's the profit margin? If it makes say £2000 a year how much are you left with once you've bought the paper, ink, envelopes postage etc...

Mally - to be honest l have never really worked out the profit. When l first started the site i was using a very cheap and cheerful colour laser. At that point it was costing :

1p per sheet of paper
11p per envelope (but we charge 32p for packaging)
3p per print (with 50% coverage)

So a profit margin of around 11p per page. However we now have a more cost effective HP printer and the cost per print, l would imagine, would come down to 2 - 2.5p per print.

Domain Angel - Realtor magazine did place an order with us back in March 2006. They had 500 prints done. Not much more l can say than that to be honest.

Ok I believe you, you should get in touch with that site immediately.

If you send me the invoice or copy of order over, I will donate £50 to admin or any charity you choose. Take out any payment details etc.

Will post here to confirm receipt and let others know you are genuine.

I will get our admin here to dig out the actual order and post the details - no problem.

Thanks for the info around rankings. I think we are going to revamp the site and the put it up for auction. By the sounds of it we might get £2,500 or so.
