Im pretty sure Marcus made a fair bit (£xx,xxx) off the streetdeeds idea and the only reason it went down was because he had other things to concentrate on:

i dont understand how one could sell a word? surley the person selling the word would have to legaly own the word in the first place?

Hi

Many thanks for you comments cm1975.

I actually come up with the idea of words after investing in Street deeds myself.

I tried to find something very basic where businesses or individuals can buy a word for £1 and have a complete page about there business or profile for life. We add the keywords to suit each word and normally when purchasing a word directly from the site the buyer would choose all the information, website links and descripitions at that point.

It was launched last year but as mentioned had many problems with trademark words which really knocked the whole idea for six.

I have now sorted out all the issues and am moving forward and going to start advertising the site again.

As for Street Deeds I was one of the main brokers who stupidly invested around £2000 on deeds and setup my own community forum for members. :(

www.streetdeedscommunity.com ( No longer active )

Street Deeds did return for a while but not for long as the owner Marcus Cicero was up to his old tricks again and just closed the site down with no explanation or nothing, he has not even been contactable since. He owes me loads of money.:(

However after looking into details further I realise that Marcus has always been the same with all his ideas including his business eliteweaver which also vanished without a trace. He has also been involved with other projects which he has sold and then not supported. You only need to google his name and you will find out all sorts of stories regarding his business and incidents.

I am no web developer but enjoyed building Virtual Words and in the beginning it generated loads of interest with hundreds of words being sold in the first few weeks untill trademark issues became a problem.

Now that all issues are resolved I hope that it will again generate the same interest as before but only time will tell.

Thanks for your comments

Hi Boxerdog

All the person owns is the word on my website.

The idea is that it is a keyword Business Directory where people purchase a word to promote a service ect.

So if someone went onto my site and typed in Shoes it would bring up The word shoes and who the owner is, there business description and a direct link into there website. If someone else was wanting to promote there shoe business and wanted to advertise on that persons deeds they could then pay to have there details added on with there business description and website link. The owner of the word who has only paid out £1 would collect 50% of the advertising fee. Up to 10 businesses can be added onto one deed which potentially could be a very heavy profit on each deed.

I find it quite straight forward and people must remember it is a virtual concept howevre there are lots of people who do not get it and this is the case with many new ideas.

For me a complete page to advertise my Business on with website link and a chance to sell advertising space is a bargain.

Some people may not think so and would certainly disagree but im not really looking for any negative posts as the whole idea was to give away 10 free words to acorn members before I start the advertising campaign again.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the honest response Gav!!

I'm sure that I'm not the only one to have noticed the similarities and I wouldn't like to see you tarred with the same brush without having a chance to explain a little further.

Good luck.

Calum.

thanks for making things clear V-W
can i take "motorhomes" just registering on the site ;)

Hi Boxerdog

you will not be able to.

This is because the accounts only register words that are bought through them.

Giving away free words is not something that i would normally do and am only doing it now due to the new advertising campaign comin soon.

Hope this anwers your question

Gav

Hi bends

I must be honest it would be a lot a work to get the words added into the user account as it is all automated.

You can still register a account if you wish to buy anymore words it will just have your free one missing, but it will be still a added onto words owned by you though for the top buyers section

The account basically just keeps track of all your purchasers so you can track each word that you own.

As they are free you will just need to remember what one you own. If you forget I have a tracker of all words sold and who owns what.

Sorry about this but hey at least you have a free word :)
