Hi,
Just found this article on The Register
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/03/30/xxx_domain_delayed/
Shouldn't be rocket science, clearly having .xxx after a website name would tell the person who is looking at it that it has adult material and therefore less likely to be typed or clicked if they are not actually looking for an adult site.
Classic example was Firebox.com started life as Hotbox.co.uk, but the Hotbox.com domain was a adult website, now I'm sure the gadgets and gizmo's that Firebox sell are a little different to the ones Hotbox would sell so they changed their name to Firebox inorder for less confussion, but if I typed Hotbox.xxx then I would be clear what type of site I would be looking at.
Many Thanks
Thadeas
