Hi

Once one has flled in all the nominet forms etc... for a sale - are the forms sent to the buyer BEFORE payment or is Payment received before the documents are sent!

What if I send the forms to them and they don't pay?

Get the money first.

[edit]
If they won't do that, use an escrow service

I've told them that I will send them the forms but not transfer the names with my registrar until payment is received!!

Dont! If they own the domain, they can apply to Nominet to do it for them for £15, no involvement from your Registrar required.

Once you sign that form and send it, the domain is gone.

Oh F*ck...I've already sent it!!!!

But I have email records etc...and if they don't pay I can use them as evidence!

Call nominet in the morning, and ask them to stop any transfer.

You Numpty!

The other alternative is to fill out a registrant change form NOW into your wife's name and put it in first class at your post sorting depot. It'll go tonite, and will be there in the morning. You just have to hope they take their time doing their paperwork! By the time they do, the domain will be in your wife's name, and the old transfer form is useless :)

Jee

Or just hope the people you are selling to are trustworthy?

Aaaaggghhhh! An absolute nightmare!!

They are a big company LettingWeb . com so I presume that they are trustworthy!

What do you lot think???? Obviously Numpty comes top mind; but if they try not to pay I'm sure something can be done about it....national press!!!

You lot!

The whole process has been done via email and I actually don't think they'll 'Do 1' ... it wouldn't be good for business!!

An even more worried Lex007!!

Ah posting yourself is fine, but remember to take your penknife out of your pocket first otherwise the postoffice won't accept you. (Dangerous objects!) :p
