Not sure if this is specifically a 123-Reg problem but not sure where else to put this question.

At the mo I'm in the process of moving a particular site from one host to another. The domain for the site is registered via 123-Reg. The stage I've got to at the moment is simply waiting on propogation completing at the new host and for my new wordpress installation there to resolve properly as at the moment it's giving me a 404 page.

I happened to notice that on the 404 page there is a blurb about contacting the 'webmaster' with any questions relating to the site however the webmaster email address it gives is someone else's AOL address that has absolutely nothing to do with me! I know this domain was owned by someone before (I also get Twitter notifications for them via an [email protected] forward I set up) - I have never specifically set up a webmaster email however. As I purchased this domain as a regular FTR from 123-Reg I would have thought any trace of a previous owners details should have been erased completely!?

I've been all through their control panel and can't see anything that relates to 'webmaster' settings or in what section this email address would be stored

Any ideas appreciated.......

If you're in control of the domain and the DNS, why don't you open a free Google Apps account and sort the MX (mail exchanger) records? PM me if you need help.

Cheers Dale I'll give that a go, you might well get a PM from me tomorrow!

Hello,

I work here at 123-reg.

If you would like I would be more than happy to have a check over your domain name for you and see what is set up for email rules and DNS on the domain name at this end.

If you would like me to check fro you please confirm the domain name or support ticket ID and I will be in touch further. This can be by PM if you prefer.

Regards,

Nerys
