Just to let you guys know, I've just spoken to an engineering colleague of mine, some chap with a JCB has gone through a fibre-optic cable near Manchester, apparently this is affecting up to one third of UK websites.

About 70% of my clients sites are down at the moment, but there is an engineering team on-site right now fixing things. I just thought I'd post this in case any of you were experiencing unusual problems today, its probably not your website, more likely to be this.

I'll post an update as soon as I get one.

Interesting, read a post yesterday about a JCB & fibre in docklands, all we need is Maidenhead and that's the 3 biggest concentrations of hosts targeted

Apparently it was a 6 inch thick fiber optic cable, so thats a main trunk if thats true.

It was fixed around 4PM UK time yesterday, sorry I was slow with the update, I spent yesterday afternoon trying to pacify annoyed customers.
