Sold a .co.uk domain name for £80 at sedo, they have recently changed there commission rates to be 10% without any minimum charge. However, they still took £35 from the sale price. This was all sorted in the end by e-mailing them - just wondering if this was a one off or whether they are catching people out...

Hi Gilly,

Although this has happened a few times, I promise it is not deliberate on our part. The £35 minimum commission was taken out for domains parked on Sedo, and our system is supoosed to recognise this and automatically only charge a straight 10%. There have been a number of cases where that hasn't happened, and the customer was charged the £35. We have taken steps to put this right, hopefully it won't happen again!

If any of you do notice that this has happened when you receive your money after a domain sale, please contact your transfer agent about it and they will arrange the shortfall to be sent to you (after verification of course ;) )

Regards,

Shaun
