I am interested to know your thoughts on:

virtual.org.uk

This was caught for me today and was my first venture into drop catching, I liked the name because I though it would be good for net companies etc, it has gone in every extension but what do you think?

1) Any idea of value

2) Any ideas of use

3) Should I put it on Domainlore

4) Should I approach end users

5) Would anyone like to buy it off me

Sorry for all the questions but I am trying too establish if my ability to choose names is getting better.

In the .co.uk this would be very valuable because of brandability, but in the .org.uk you lose a lot of that. However, I do have some thoughts about possible uses. Drop me a PM if you want to know.

Great name, not so great extension.

I always try to find a market before I reg a domain name so that I can either develop or resell.

Its goto be worth more than reg fee for sure, but I would be hard pushed to find something that would offer a return in a year or two that would not have to involve a large cash investment to market it.

With .org I always tend to think not for profit. But if you paid £5+VAT and sold for £50 then its a win win.

Unless you have a hook or a site, I would reluctantly give it a £50-£100 price tag

I am still undecided about the way forward with this name, I like the idea of developing it but just not sure that's a job for me.

I thinks it's a really nice domain however I agree with accelerator about the extension (.org.uk).

The first thing that came to my mind was a virtual server.

I agree about the extension, I am going to do some research today on what to do with it, I am leaning towards selling it at the moment unless I can figure out a decent site for it.

"Virtual" has got some mileage in it I think, if a decent offer comes in I will let it go so I can concentrate on areas I have knowledge in; failing that it will probably go on Domainlore.

As a kid and teen I looked forward to a future of virtual reality gaming, virtual worlds are all over the web now in games , maybe tht's a market worth looking at, or the technology that enables that market.

Yes I agree there are a number of avenues related to virtual, I have put it up for sale now but if it doesn't go and I am left to develop it I was considering a virtual community angle.
