This is a website that I built as a joint project with a friend of mine. The site, really is pretty awesome.
The basic concept is that you have a "carousel" of your favourite websites above a simple search box. You can then enter a search into the search box, and depending on which logo you you selected, the search is then placed onto that brands website. ie.
Select Amazon:
Enter "computer" into the search box, you will see that you are taken through to the search result page for "computer" on the Amazon site.
Now select the Play.com logo - you will then see that if you click search, you are taken through to the search result page of Play.com.
It really is quite intuitive once you have a play around with the site.
In addition to the standard functionality, you will see that you are able to customise your "carousel". This means that you can drag and drop your favourite sites into the carousel and remove the sites that you do not want to be on your site. The great thing about this, is it is all done through a cookie, and as such no registration/logging in is required.
It is a great site, and it is a site that we are very proud of, however due to work commitments, we do not have time to really push on and market it. As such we are now looking to move it on to a new home.
