I've come across a few .uk's that i could resell, however, the registrants are in the USA, and aren't interested in doing a paper transfer - they believe its the same as a .com/net/org, and that it can be done electronically - In fact (although not similar) I had a big US Domain Registrar tell me that they can do .uk.com's electronically even though centralnic require the paper bit (which I eventually got). To make matters worse, they are usually regged to nonsensical names etc - sometimes the registrant is an email address or a number...

Has anyone else had issues with this?

At the moment, i've refused to purchase the domain, but I know they'll just be resold to another unsuspecting buyer.

Any ideas?

Personally if the name is good ,why not use escrow.com or some other escrow ?. If not could always make sure the terms are agreed in writing and then if worse came to worst pop along to Court and get an order to transfer the name to yourself on the back of breach of contract(and could freeze it in meanwhile) Then if the seller has any other names you could enforce costs etc against those other names perhaps ???

These names aren't worth going to court for as they aren't generic - just good keywords. Escrow is an option I didnt think of!

Cheers
