You know, the .org is still free.

(But will Lex register it in the next few hours? Gotta be worth 5k, right?)

Generic, single word .net domains rarely sell for more than £15k - where exactly are you getting these ludicrous prices from??

These values are based on the end-user business model...! It's all about the end user for domain name values...they are the people who will be looking at profit potential.

When someone buys a fixed asset e.g. a piece of machinery in a factory, they need to produce x to break even etc...these principles apply perfectly to domain names!!!!!

A business that is starting up these days NEEDS A GOOD WEB PRESENCE!! And....the way they find that is through a domain name. If one holds a significant portion of a niche sector then the prices are fixed...like a monopoly. They just can't get it anywhere else so they are forced to part with 'current rates' that are set.....

I give in, it's like talking to a brick wall.

As you say so yourself Lex, the prices are for end users so why are to trying to sell them at that price to resellers?

Only the resellers can shift the perception...I believe that this month has been a record for DOMAIN SALES.. the only way is up for domain name values. The time has begun for the general population to be introduced to the 'domain name' as an integral part of any new or existing business!!!

OK, point me to these 'current rates' that are set?? - I havent seen any 4 word property related .net domain names sell for 15k ever and as I just said generic 1 word .nets rarely make 15k. I dont need any more sales pitches thanks, just a straight answer.

ForSaleByOwner.com - 4 word property domain...look at what this sold for...

I know it's not a .net though.

ToRentByOwner.com - should be worth something...what do YOU think of it's value...seriously speaking. Don't be shy??

IMO forsalebyowner.com was a freak sale many years ago in the .com boom years. Im asking where you are getting the current set prices from now??

This is the second wave of interest in the DOT COM!!!!

Prices were 'inflated' before due the relatively unknown sector called the internet and e-commerce. Now people know what it's all about! Values will increase..I believe the time is about right to get the masses involved!

Jesus, this is a domain name forum, you dont have to try and sell the concept of 'domain names' to anyone on here.

Once again - where are these 'current set prices' for .net property domains that you have based the value of this name on???
