<sarcasm> I see the quality of names accepted is getting better :p </sarcasm>

It'll be interesting to see what it makes, and whether BIDO can survive with this sort of name quality. I think Admin is being quite lenient in allowing these posts. Jarred, have you got anything more to contribute other than these BIDO advisory bullletins?

That is a fair point as 100% of the posts are sales :(

The quality of what we auction is directly related to the quality of whats being submitted. If you have something you want to auction, by all means, please submit it to us. While we don't claim to have the formula just right to get the upper premium domains into Bido, we continue to make changes to make the platform better and in turn the quality will improve. For example, we just recently opened up to ccTLD domains as well as allowing sellers to set reserve pricing, both big changes from our initial launch.

Hi Dale, it's no secret Bido cannot survive with just one auction per day. Our auction archive is here: Bido.com - Bid on Bido - v1.2544
As you can see some were very good sales, and for a very small handful, the right buyers did not turn out. Bido certainly cannot survive with auctioning only one domain per day of, as you suggest, questionable quality.
Soon, Bido will have multiple auctions and also be opening up the platform and allow sellers to run their own auctions, among other things. We've really just scratched the surface with these one premier auction per day that we've been doing. Behind the scenes, however, we're quite busy designing, testing, and building things, all to accommodate the entire community of domain professionals. Give us time and I think you will like what you see, if not, I kindly ask for your specific feedback to make anything better.

Hi Jarred, I would say that the history is good -- some nice names and sales there. But the model of one domain per day and no reserve was initially intriguing; however as you see now, unsustainable unless you have a constant feed of premiums.

There are three new competitors now that I know of besides Sedo,; two have emerged here in the UK and the other is the NameDrive/NDX model. I think Bido needs to stay with it's 'angle'. One place to look at and get ideas is here: Auction | Cheap TV laptop ipod auctions - bid & win on Swoopo :)

Best regards to you and our friends over the pond :)

Well, I snagged that juera.com one for $40 despite the fact that I have no idea what it means other than a LLLLL.com pronounceable. Just checking the system out I suppose. Pretty slick interface.

Yet another cracking name sale on bido :)

I can't believe the quality of some of the rubbish being auctioned. I've submitted several names of good quality and never even get a reply, so the excuse of the quality being submitted does not fly.
It would be in the interests of bido to ACTUALLY look at the names being submitted ;)

It wasn't a 'cracking' name at all. I just wanted to go through the process there. Indeed, they need to open it up now and make it commercially viable for themselves. The latest name 'dinnerknives.com' indicates that they need to research a more interesting and lucrative customer base. Perhaps now, they'll take some of your submissions on board FagEnd, 'cos if they don't, they'll be looking South. Actually, their website isn't too bad. I'm just working out how to pay for what I've won given that I credited myself with $50 for a $40 win. Anyway, I'll look again tomorrow and make sure I set up the correct Moniker transfer details.
