Google doesn't seem to recognise the word 'free' in domain names (per Adwords Keyword selection tool).

E.g. get suggestions for the word free and the list starts with 'frees'...and includes 'student frees' (presumably Student Free Stuff).

I'm about to invest time and money on the domain freedrink.co.uk - and am now slightly unsure to what extent the name will be prioritised within search results.

Any thoughts? Are you aware of any other names that Google treats in this way?

Regards
Glenn

I've got no idea about the ranking or the technical Google stuff re: the word 'free', but I say build it and they will come.

This isn't based on experience. But I think your domain is catchy and I'd be very surprised if you were penalised in any way for having the word free in there.

I'm not sure how many are searching for 'free drink' (probably not a massive amount) but depending on your usage and planned project, it's definitely catchy enough. With good content, you should get good links back and as we all know thats what Google likes!
