Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows anyone with the email:

[email protected]

As they purchased a domain from Domainlore from me, but have yet to respond to emails/texts and I'm concerned I may have the wrong details for them.

I notice that a member here used the name

thedomain500 before changing it to WalkinDude

and have also messaged them, as its a bit of a coincidence but they have also not responded to my PM...??

Just wondering if they are a member here, or if anyone has had any dealings with them.....

*If they are a member here and there is a problem with payment please just let me know!

Thanks

Jason

It always annoys me when this happens. I had it happen to me on a DL sale last year. Frustratingly there is no option to offer it to the second highest bidder in these instances (like on ebay).

It's not worth the energy sometimes chasing people. But i do wonder why people bid on domains they have no intention of buying?? Are they up late and pissed? On drugs? Regret it in the morning when they sober up when they realise they spent all their money on their choice of drink or drugs? I can't think of any other reason why some people do this.

I'm glad in my case, as i sold the domain for 3 times the amount to an end user just a few weeks later.

Hopefully there has been a good reason but otherwise i'd let it go if you don't hear back soon.

If you google the email address in inverted commas you'll get loads of pages with a mobile phone number for them as well as other domains they own which will give you their name etc....

Surely D/L supply you with all the necessary details on the bidder ?

Many thanks for the replies people, much appreciated

The phone number Ive texted is the number on the sites listed under that link domainmandave, thanks for that....but no joy......

Maybe there is a reason, and I dont mind if people need more time, however its just annoying when they don't respond......even if its to say sorry was drunk!

Oh well.....back to the grindstone, and Euro Millions!

Still even if one regrets winning an auction the right thing to do is to pay up so I respect you for tracking down the buyer. I know I had my fair share of 'wtf why did I bid on that' moments but I still paid up.

Its only been a couple of days, and I totally understand either regretful purchases, or even lack of cash flow.....I wish people would just reply to messages......!!!!! :(

Don't just text the number. Hide your number (now they know what your number us they'll probably not pick up) and call them. Put them on the spot and see what they have to say. It's far too easy to ignore a text.

They might have a good reason - but probably not if they've been ignoring your messages!

I didn't know it had only been a few days, missed that.

You gotta give the guy a chance. That's a lot if tracking down and now the texting seems a bit over the top.

I'd send an email and wait 4 or 5 days before I'd start to even consider it a non sale. After a week to 10 days it probably isn't going to happen.

Things do happen and people get busy, gotta give them a chance.

Ah right, well if you had mentioned that in your original post i'd have said have a bit more patience! Give the guy a chance.

People in business need to be on the ball, you bid, you win, you pay and then accept the transfer. Simple :D

I have been waiting for an item off Ebay which apparently was sent 1st class last Saturday yet it's still not here ?

Maybe it got lost in the post but if it's down to he buyer not sending it yet then I would rather they just told me instead of p*ss*ng me about.

Couldn't agree more in this day and age there is absolutely no excuse for delays, you can contact people, look on the web and send money from virtually anywhere.

Narcissistic.co.uk £50 I was the only bidder. So all the 'pass it on to second bidders' theorists take note.

This is a domainlore auction nothing to do with acorn in my view.

Consider it a liberty then getting pm's in acorn regarding this domain from seller.

DL states 3 weeks to complete. Not the random one day, 2 days any one of us can make up as a 'rule' on the spot.

I have 100% feedback in both arenas.

I'm busy.

You the seller are the most important person in YOUR world not mine. And thanks for the comments from those still left in the sane world that pointed out it has only been a couple of days and I repeat I was the only bidder so i've hardly robbed anyone else of this deal.

If i see any more threads about me or any further attempt on your part to 'trace' me as if you just sold a 5k domain and are 'frantically' trying to authenticate it then there's going to be a big problem. I consider this abuse of my privacy ta.

No it doesn't, it states 3 weeks for this which is to do with the transfer, not payment, Denys expects buyer and seller to contact each other within 3 days of the end of the auction:

How it works? Easy as 1-2-3:

1. We will hold a listing fee of 10% of your starting (or reserve, whichever is greater) price as a deposit on your account.
2. After your domain name sells, this fee is released to be re-used or refunded back to your Paypal, credit card..etc.
3. The listing fee will be charged if your domain name does not sell or not transferred to the buyer in the allowed time frame of 21 days (when the transfer is deemed unsuccessful).

With regards to the sale and payment, it says:

What to do after the Auction

The DomainLore system will send notifications to both the highest bidder and the seller after the end of a successful auction. Both the buyer and seller are expected to contact each other via email, within 3 days after the end of the auction. (Email addresses can be found in the notifications). After email contact, you might wish to exchange phone numbers to speed up communications. If repeated emails go unanswered by either party, you should notify Domainlore via a contact form at http://domainlore.co.uk/contact. We will then release the other party's phone number.

Once contact has begun, the payment arrangements, domain transfer arrangements, and expected dates should be settled upon. The goal is to complete the transaction within 7 days of auction closing. This may vary a little, depending on payment type, how long to wait to clear, when Escrow is used, etc. Basically, the specific dates should be worked out between the buyer and seller, and each party should follow through with their part of the schedule. You might need to exchange several emails or phone contacts, updating the other party with every step. However, if after 14 days the transaction is not successfully closed and the domain name is not transferred, our system will issue a final reminder to the buyer and to the seller. The purchase will be deemed failed and is cancelled if there is no further action after 7 days of the final reminder. The system is not able to determine at whose fault this has happened, but it presumes a buyer's fault. This will negatively affect buyer's competence score, however seller might also incur a small penalty. For sellers this will not affect their overall competence level in a significant way. The situation for the buyer is different as it could be a one strike rule. We will not tolerate non-paying / non-responding buyers on DomainLore.

Apologises you feel that way, however I was merely concerned with no responses to messages and after having experience of non paying bidders I don't think there is anything wrong with at least a reply to say message received payment within the next week, or words to that effect. In my business if I don't reply to messages I lose business.......simple as that, there was no offence meant!

It is plain rude and unprofessional to ignore contact from a seller about an auction you won.

Being 'busy' is not an excuse (Dem tell you say oda pipu wey dey for hia and DL no busy? Which kain yeye busy be dat?), and neither is the fact that you are the only bidder on the domain. If anyone creates a reputation for themself, they should be happy to live with that reputation and its consequences! If one is not decent enough to honour an auction win, at least they should be decent enough to let the seller know in good time. Don't we all want to move on from a sale and focus on getting the next one?

If you had responded to his email with the speed with which you responded to this thread, he would not have had to post a request for you to get in touch here .... (and you come dey buga the guy on top)!

It's a shame Denys does not hold £5 deposit from bidders for each domain they are bidding on to discourage non-paying bidders and reimburse sellers that £5 from the bidder deposit if buyer fails to pay. It is not abuse of privacy to use reasonable means to trace an auction winner to get them to pay up, and stuff that happens on one forum is posted on other forums all the time.

... and you know you are still ignoring my email about the domain you won on 05.02.13. I don't have a problem keeping the name if you do not wish to honour your win, or holding it for a while for you if you intend to get it at a reasonable future date; all you have to do is get in touch! I would have still responded as in the preceeding paragraphs even if I were not a recipient of your nonchalant, unprofessional attitude. It costs you nothing to keep the other party informed on what is happening.
