Hi,

I was just wondering if there is any value in buying domains that contain popular keywords but the second segment of the domain is a less popular word or phrase that perhaps doesn't lend itself to the high value make up of the name.

e.g.: obviously 'mobilesales' is a high value domain but would the domain 'mobilessold' have any value as it contains the word mobile which is going to be a highly sought after keyword?

I hope I have made sense in what I am trying to get at here?!?! and any advice / opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

As from my point of view you should buy a domain which describes your business the best. If you buy a domain to re-sell, you should consider the target audience which will bid for your domain. IMHO the domain name itself is not so important to obtain hight search rank. The rank for domain is done by advertising, content, linking, references etc. If you just by a domain with keywords in it, this means nothing until the domain's content is appropriately optimized, advertised and indexed. So, any way there is a lot of work after the domain is purchased to make it popular.

If you disagree, please prove your point.

Could not disagree more my friend, keywords in title is hugely important. All my domains are prrof of that, they all get high up in Search engines I have never gone round the internet laying links or advertising.

However I guess that is for another thread on here, as Paulo is trying to get at a different point.

I think it does have a value Paulo, I think Google and other search engines now are able to work out other keywords linked to what people have typed in, I can't prove it but I think they are able to distinguish between word groups. I'm pretty sure it will put "sold" in the same group as "sell, sale, buy" etc and it does help with seo

I'm sure I have some domains somewhere that would be able to back it up but I can't remember them off hand.

If I do I'll post them up for you
