Looking to buy a couple which have been offered to me and possibly flip them :) for obvious reasons don't really want to post them here - but whats the minimum which any 3 letter .co.uk domain would be worth?

From looking at sold posts it would appear £400+ minimum regardless of how good the name is?

The names I am interested in do not contain any X, Q, U letters

Thanks

Whilst I'm not a 3 letter expert, I would say that traditionally these have traded around the £500 level. However, I'm sure it is very dependent on the letters whether you can make a sale, and even if you don't have any of the really bad letters, the quick sale required to flip would not be guaranteed.

Rgds

lowest value I have seen this year was Xat.co.uk £267 Sedo Auction April 2009 Allthough I have seen groups sell for less when buying five or six really depends on the letters GGG co.uk was $26,904 May 09

by reversal, the KKK sold for around 1-2% of GGG.

I have seen LLLs go for £200ish too.

I'd say if selling on acorn you can expect (currently) £350-500 as a minimum, last year you could expect £500-600. Next year maybe £200 or maybe 700, punt away :)

I guess KKK would have been similar value if it wasn't linked with the initials of the Ku Klux Klan and the fact they have the .com? (although if the reason GGG is higher value is different somebody please correct me)

There are only 26 x LLL where all 3 are the same letter. Its a Rarity thing is my guess, the only .co.uk rarer than 3 of the same is LL's :)

I bought it for rarity alone, and was nice to know someone was willing to pay more minutes after I bought it.

Plan is (along with a couple of other ones once a two people pull their fingers out) to knock up a quick anti-racism site for it.

I think there is an ethical level to domains and with owning certain ones comes responsiblity. eg. Steve Irwin

ggg.co.uk I believe it was Spil games who also bought A10 .co.uk $19950 among others trying to break the uk games market. As yet I've not been able to figure out there buying pattern or strategy? but they seem to keep buying them?

Be careful about trade mark domains - they can be worthless, or very hard to monetise.

For example, I wouldn't buy GKN .co.uk ...

I recently picked up eaw.co.uk for £310
was surprised because I thought these letters were pretty good.
(eaw : east and west, england and wales... ok actually I can't think of that many ;) )

Nice buy I think, had my eye on it before the drop but only had an email address for the previous registrant and didn't get a reply ;)
