Hi,

if i was tell sell a domain through sedo to another company would i need to charge vat?

also i dont own a company how do a give them a vat number?

cheers

You can only charge VAT if you are VAT registered.

Your post above suggests you're not - so the answer is "no"!

you can't charge vat:twisted: or give a vat reciept or a vat number unless you are vat registered as a business.

This just means that the buyer can't claim vat back on the purchase.

You must become VAT registered if you turn-over over a certain amount of thousands per year (150,000?). The VAT:twisted: man would then give you a vat:twisted: number to put on your invoices.

And thats that.;)

Compulsory VAT registration = £60,000 turnover a year

You can opt for Voluntary VAT registration on any turnover though, only worth it if all your customers are VAT registered themselves.
