Is there any way to stop it from prompting me to download when I view on my tablet?

I've answered no, but next time I load up the forum on my tablet it asks me again, can it not set this preference in a cookie?

Perhaps I can switch it off for tablets, would you agree that it is unnecessary for tablets?

No idea what others think, I find it a pain when anything doesn't remember my preferences, perhaps when browsing generally, but re-visiting my usual sites, I'd not expect to get prompted every time.

Rather than blindly switching off, it would be much better if it could remember the preference. I'm guessing it holds the preference in a session rather than permanently per user?

I don't use the tablet much, but do occasionally take a look in the evening when in the lounge, so it's an occasional pain rather than a show stopper.

Personally I never use Tapatalk or that other one the forum always spams me with when I visit it from my mobile. The Tapatalk banner has recently become even more annoying though, seems to ignore the X close button. No idea why, is there some kind of revenue share deal with these two?

I don't really mind that one as it's not too intrusive, but the Tapatalk thing is so annoying - especially with the fake close button

Thanks, I just tested tapatalk action on a phone without it and I saw the banner you refer to, the X to close it is on the left and it worked fine for me.

Interesting, it is working better today. Last time I tried it took ages to accept a click on the X, but good to see that it appears to have improved.

No one uses Forumrunner anymore ever since Internet Brands ( who owns vbulletin ) took it over, basically killed the platform which was a reasonable competitor to keep Tapatalk on their toes until then.

Id personally uninstall forum runner and remove the files if you want Tapatalk as your primary.

You can turn off the welcome screen and the notification for tapatalk, the welcome screen its best to turn off completely imo as its more annoying than helpful. The notification i personally turn off as well but you may have different reasons for using it.
