Does anyone else get the Sunday Times? Great article in the magazine about Stuxnet.

Anyone who worries that Iran are a threat, needs to read this to find out who is the real threat to global stability.

I get the paper but don't subscribe online - anyone who does might be able to post up the article?

Edit: Now we know why they need this - http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/gener...ncy-launches-online-code-cracking-puzzle.html

The full story on stuxnet can be read below. Amazing.

The malware would sit quietly on the system doing reconnaissance for about two weeks, then launch its attack swiftly and quietly, increasing the frequency of the converters to 1,410Hz for 15 minutes, before restoring them to a normal frequency of 1,064Hz. The frequency would remain at this level for 27 days, before Stuxnet would kick in again and drop the frequency down to 2Hz for 50 minutes.
The drives would remain untouched for another 27 days, before Stuxnet would attack again with the same sequence. The extreme range of frequencies suggested Stuxnet was trying to destroy whatever was on the other end of the converters.

I know the argument goes that Israel has a nuclear capability so why shouldn't Iran but given that Israel has demonstrated that it hasn't acquired them for offensive reasons let me ask you a question. Israel is surrounded by countries that at best tolerate it and at worst call for it's destruction, with that in mind ...

Do you think that it's a good idea for Iran to have a nuclear weapons capability?

I think it is a good idea - I don't think Iran is as dangerous as a US backed Isreal...there are reasons that the countries around it feel the way they do.

The UN granted Israel as the Jews Homeland in 1948 and Israel has been under seige pretty much ever since.

After 63 years their neighbours should have been able to get over it!

Right...and if I moved next door to you and every few weeks I moved the fence seperating our land a few feet further onto your side, you'd 'get over it' would you?

That would depend on how many times you attacked me and my family and how often you indiscrimantly fired missiles in the direction of my land.

Nice site you link to - almost as credible as www.jewwatch.com (they even look similar) - come on, you can better than that and find something accurate.

This is priceless considering the topic this thread is actually about. Pot calling the kettle black.
