Can we look to split the .org.uk and .co.uk from the main sales forum? There appears to be a lot of .org.uk clogging up the board and they really need to be relegated somewhere out of sight :)

There is a way to identify the domain extension already but people have to apply it when they make a post.

Some posts include both extensions so I guess it depends if people are OK with having to create more threads.

I think that's an excellent suggestion. In fact, there should be a .me.uk forum too ideally, because then I can completely ignore the .org.uk and .me.uk forums and just look at .co.uk.

I know there's a pulldown already (and I use it) but not enough people seem to. An alternative would be to put in some code to force the choice of an extension from the pulldown i.e. people can't just leave it blank or the thread gets rejected at post time.

By all means put the me.uk and org.uk together but I think its time to run a .co.uk only section so as Edwin says we can ignore the former.

Agreed, .co.uk stands out on its own so much it needs a seperate section.
I always use the pulldown and select the appropriate extension.
Not everyone bothers and it is a waste of time :(

I agree with all above, either enforce the drop down selection or add seperate forums :)

Good suggestion.

Yes I agree. I will not buy a .org.uk or a .me.uk so I am frustrated that they sit along side .co.uk, or rather thin out the .co.uk's making it a chore to go through. I can tolerate someone selling the three extensions for the same name in a thread so I wouldn't exclude them totally.

I suport this proposal.

posted some today using the drop down to identify what extn they were.

5 mins later got a PM asking what extn are they...go figure

My vote is for .co.uk to be separate of all others and .org.uk the same.
All others can be grouped with drop down but must specify

cheers

As someone who has a number of .org.uk and .me.uk domains, I agree with this proposal. The majority of people who buy these domains do so with the specific reason of building sites and using them for SEO reason.

My view is the good keywords in these .uk variants will stand more and not get clogged up in amongst some of the poor quality .co.uks that are on the sales forum! ;)

Some people want sportscars (ie .co.uk), some people want 4x4s (.org.uk / .me.uk). You can get from A to B in both, but some are perceived to be sexier than others. However, you'll still get some sportscars that are clapped out rusty Capris.

Whilst I would seperate out the domain only sites, I would probably retain an all inclusive area for .uk website sales.

I have been a little guilty of not always using the drop down, but this tends to be where I believe the keywords are of a good enough quality to tempt one of the "purests" to see the potential value of such a domain! In future, I will ensure I do use it!

New Sales Structure

OK I have made some changes as requested:

View all UK domains for sale here

View all fixed price UK domains for sale here
View .co.uk only prixed price domains here
View .org.uk only fixed price domains here
View .me.uk only prixed price domains here

View all auction/offer UK domain here
View .co.uk only auction/offer domains here
View .org.uk only auction/offer domains here
View .me.uk only auction/offer domains here

View all swap/trade UK only domains here

To force everyone to use the new structure, I propose to close "new post" ability in these forums:

Fixed Price Domain Names For Sale
Domain Name Auctions or Offers Invited
Domain Name Swaps

leaving Premium, Portfolio, Bargain Basement and UK website forums remaining.
