My fist attempt at trying to make an attractive memorable website. Nearing completion now I think. I'm sure I've made loads of mistakes, so if anyone could tell me where I've gone wrong (or right), or how they would have done it, that would be much appreciated.
All comments welcome, deragotory ones too, though if you have time a simple 'like' or 'dislike' would give me hint as to what the consensus is.

Hi and good luck with the site. :)

I've had a very quick glance and you urgently need to do a spell/general check on the content, there's typos/spelling mistakes in plenty of places (e.g. right hand side column page 1). This will lower your credibility.

I would put some more informative content straight onto the home page. I don't think you need to tell people which links can be clicked on. Your home page is the most important page, so put some of your best content on it.

Alien. That's one thing I meant to do but forgot, thanks, there's nothing like someone else picking up on a point to get you in gear. I'll make it a priority.

Accelerator: Yes, I thought it looked a bit blank but wasn't sure quite what what to do with the homepage. I see what you mean. When I read your comment I got my smartphone out and put together an updted home-page. Is that more like it, or am I still missing the point?

Thanks for your input, its these kind of obvious things that I need pointing out.
Any more for any more?
Cheers.

Spell check complete.

Is the way I've used a graphical background okay? I think it will slow the site down some, but it looks nice. Does anyone else think so? And is it worth the time taken to do it, to make the site more memorable?

My advice is work on quality content and traffic first. Once you have the traffic, then spend time on the design, if it's worth it.

People always give me a hard time about my sites lacking design, but to be quite frank, I worry about traffic, then conversion and I'm not that bothered about pure design aspects, as long as the site is "working".

Priceless advice accelerator. I've spent far too long dithering with design on this site, but I needed to learn wordpress anyway so I'll excuse myself this time.

What you said made sense. in future I'll try to opt for quick, tidy pages of good content that I'll improve visually if I can ever drum up visitors.
thanks again accelerator

PS: did this image used to be your avatar?? Or was that someone else?

No, not me.

Another thing on your site. When people have a sore throat, they are going to want their remedy straight away. I think this could be a problem in making sales from your Amazon store. Therefore, I would be tempted to give priority to AdSense. On a page like:

http://www.sore-throat.co.uk/prepare-this-diy-gargle-for-symptoms-of-sore-throats/

I would have the AdSense first within the text body, say about five lines down. Then the Cloraseptic ad a few lines after that. I think you will make more money from AdSense on this type of site.

my mistake.

I did think about having more adsence less amazon, it seemed a choice between more clicks with less cpc or less clicks with more commision. Probably wont mount up to much either way but I thought I'd try one then the other to see what was best.
I'll do as you suggest & start with more adsense. Thanks for the feedback, I learn something new about this whole business with every comment.
Cheers
