out of interest, where do you get your cpc and other stats from? I'm guessing the answer contains the word 'google' somewhere

Dave, the Google keyword tool gives the exact searches and the average cpc's, here:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

One you have entered the keywords on that page and hit the submit button, when the page reloads, you will see some drop down menus, choose the options to show cpc etc, and make sure you have the tool set to "exact" and not "broad" search.
