I have a domain I purchased and it is now on my TAG. I was under the impression that with a self managed tag I could do a free transfer into my name.

However when I click transfer I get the following message

"...The following domains are not on your connected names list and cannot be transferred:..."

I edited the contact that was the problem (current owner) into my details and it still won't transfer and now the current owner no longer sees it in his Nominet account so can;t do it the old fashioned paid for way

My questions are....

1. Should it have been possible?
2. What did I do wrong
3. How do I rectify it now?

You need to add the registrant name under your Connected Names.

TAG Settings / Connected Names

Look on the right hand side and add the name exactly as it shows.

Then do the transfer via web domain manager, once finished remove the name from "connected names".

@Darren Fantastic - Many thanks that worked perfectly.

Simple when you know how!

Been tearing my hair out for hours

No problem.

Also if you already have 5 names listed you can overwrite one with the new registrant then just add the old one back once the transfer is complete.

I can't believe how easy that was, I don't buy many so been paying the £12 for years as when I last tried couldn't figure it out, but thought it was about time to have another try.

I only have two connected names so that shouldn't be a problem, but useful to know.

Many thanks
