I'm at a juncture with this site where I'm either going to develop the site further, or sell it.
Q. How much traffic does the site get?
A. Around 650 – 850 visits per month, tailing off in a little in winter. Screenshots available upon request.
Q. Who developed the site?
A. Me, which probably means in will be w3c non-compliant
. It is written in html/CSS. Site is sold as seen and new owner will be expected to move it over to their own server. No support will be provided after the sale.
Q. How long has the site been live for?
A. Since November 2009, traffic has been growing steadily since then.
Q. How much does the site make?
A. Very little at the moment but then making it pay hasn't really been my focus. That will change, should it not sell. I haven't factored in existing revenue into my asking price.
Q. How do you plan to 'make it pay' if it doesn't sell?
1. Hotel search function (never tested – I believe this will provide a good stream of revenue).
2. Placing Adsense on all pages (currently just on a few pages)
3. Selling ads directly (Caravans, Hotels, B&Bs, camp sites, etc).
Q. Go on then, how much do you want for it?
A. 11k for the domain plus site. My asking price is worked out roughly as follows: 8.5k for domain, 2.5k for the site, traffic and existing rankings.
Q. How does it rank on Google and Bing?
A. - On the first page of G for 'skegness tourist information'
- Ranks very well on G for some longer, attraction related search terms (top of page 1, in some cases).
- Top of second page on Bing for 'skegness'. Has been on the on page one before.
About the domain:
.co.uk. Registered since 1997. Bought by me from original registrant many years ago.
