Shouldn't this site be ideal to promote? (petition.co.uk)

Hi all, one of my hidden gems I feel is www.petition.co.uk

I'm sure once I get my act together and start looking at the promotion side of things, this site could attract a great amount of viewers.

The main competition is the governments own e-petitions website, however thats only really for huge items, where people expect to get over 100,000 signatures for anything to happen like debates at parliament. The beauty about my website is its more applicable for the local low level issues.

I'm looking to include tips on how petition owners can promote their petitions to get more signatures for their cause. Ideally I want petition owners (and also their supporters who have signed their petition) to share the love (links)

What I'm thinking of is along the lines or sending them a promotion pdf, containing examples of social media, how to contact local newspapers etc..

Do you think is a good idea? If so what sort of person would I need to put together this sort of pdf, i.e a social networker, or journalist?

Cheers Mally

I thinks it's a great idea and the further the country suffers the more people will be willing to take a stand and back a cause. I had a similar name appraised on here and that exact suggestion came up. Has the potential to create a lot of passive promotion.

In terms of the PDF, I am not sure I think all of the ideas could be on the site itself. I believe sites in this genre have legs and the net and climate is screaming out for it. If I had the skills I would develop the name I have but sadly I haven't got the skills.

Good luck with it

Aiden

Thanks for your reply Aiden, what's your similar domain?

I have peacefulprotest.co.uk , it was suggeated i use it for smaller protest groups that probably wouldnt get national coverage. I havent ruled it out but fear the development may be beyond me. As I say its similar but petition does what it says on the tin.

I think Patrick's Twitition.com site would be the main one to view as a competitor or inspiration, it's already got quite a good backlink profile and won awards I believe.

Yep I agree, a nice domain name, which I think would be great as a forum

I've never seen this site before, but agree it looks good and easy, guess only useful if your a twitter user though

What's your motivation behind it? Doing a social good or to make money?

I think it would make a great sub site for branding, i.e a side kick from a popular website or newspaper, bit like how the sun has fantasy football. I do have adsense on their currently testing to see if there's any income from that, but inreality I'm aware its difficult to monetise this type of website.
