Jjust wondering if I am going in the right direction on this ?

It's my first attempt at a Wordpress site so learning as I go along. I don't belive I have the design skills to produce the site to is full potential.

I'm wondering if I should just try and flip this but not sure as to the value of the domain as it's a .org.uk.

Comments on direction and value "as is" ?

Thanks

No idea on value of domains as im new to all this.

Think that your first attempt looks very good.

Well done you should be proud of yourself as it is not easy.

Regards

Looks nice on reaching the page but the stream of posts doesn't quite work for me.

Could I suggest you set one of the static pages to be the home page in Wordpress and it'll be easier to make that page look good without the post headers (should be under settings/general). Keep adding posts and have the recent posts list widget in a sidebar then make sure your sitemap.xml is regularly updated so you get the SEO benefit of new content from the posts. There are a few sitemap plug-ins for Wordpress that'll do this easily.

Under Settings/General add in the www into your sites URL, it freaks out old people if it isn't there.

Under Setting/Reading pick custom structure and type this /%postname%/ to get your post name in the URL, I've ranked well for some search terms related to my post titles on WP sites and I'm sure this has been a factor.

You also need a privacy policy with Adsense, nick the one from the blog in my sig and change the website name.

Thanks done a couple of those changes. :D

Does anyone have an opinion on a value for the domain name it's self ?

Anybody have an opinion for a value on the domain itself ?

Something I do with sites is remove the "pages" bit in the columns and give all the pages their own link in a category.
So you could have "Info" instead of pages, then External Links as you have already. Just a different way of organising them
Then install the "my link order" plug in to set them how you want.
Also a great plugin I use is called "page link manager" it lets you select which titles appear so if you get too many you can take out things like Privacy Policy and Sitemap, contact us etc and leave only the most pertinent ones at the top.

Everything you take off there is replicated in your sidebar anyways.
