Personally I don't mind the new guys, as we've all been there! ;)

It's the serious spammers selling absolute worthless shite .coms, .nets dot whatevers. But I ignore it and use the quick links/todays posts button thing to quickly see whats worth looking at and what isn't.

Is this really productive?

Everyone has to start somewhere - some people have chosen that place to be here... How can people improve if they can't learn from there mistakes or experiences?... Now, i'm not here to encourage people to constantly list below par names but neither am I here to discourage it... And remember 'we' have the choice to read / ignore what threads we want to...

connected to the other poll, there are a number of us now who are registering domains wih lots of future potential. Some of these may appear crap now, but then who would have wanted blog.com 10 years ago?

As others around here, I have lots of "green", "ethical" etc. names which *should* increase in value over the next few years. Value now is probably negligable.

we think so rich... not only is it a bit of forum fun... it should be a *good* seed to see if the peeps (not all noobs) are just coming to a "domain forum" not just this one, as we have seen crap appearing all over.. and maybe taking a few days to read the threads / archives a bit before wasting money on crap...

we agree with what you say about choice... but if you read into the posts in last, say 2 months, compare the actual posts to multi-thread script software some are using... a lot of the *posts* are just sig spam to build links...

the poll may also show, who, as in what members are posting crap / spam / junk / link drivers... as we can see who answers... the obvious flamers will just poll that their domains / choice is correct, as we can see already...

it is only a yard stick to measure by but you have got to admit as a mod that the "quality" of noobs joining, posting 2 or 3 times and then moving on has increased a lot?

anyway, as said a bit of fun too

All I can say is that I posted a name on here for £50 in my early days with this forum, and no one took it up, 2 days ago sold it for £500, don't want to name it yet until fully completed but you never know what value something holds sometimes.

very true gw... :-D

there is always someone that wants something that nobody else wants... you only have to look at ebay to qualify that

by the way that is a very good profit... but it will be a generic / wanted word/s no doubt... the quality of offers we speak of are pure junk / spam.. some of them are not even zoned / registered... they are just drops being tasted and then released to drive traffic... shame but true :(

What gets to me is the (usually new) poster that says that they have a brilliant, fantastic domain for sale, and then offer something like 'x73gbcm.mobi'.

Whilst I understand that such a domain may be desirable for some people, I would prefer a list of domains (preferably with either BINs or a price guide) and be able to make my own mind up to how good I consider the domain to be.

It always makes me smile when the "fantastic" domain has a BIN of £500, only to see this drop everyday for a week :)

Yep lots of crappy domains around with high prices

People should really spend the time to browse the forum before starting to buy lots of useless domains... but then again even more interesting is they sometimes manage to sell them
