Can anyone advise me on writing content. I think i have a few decent looking sites but they dont get the traffic i would like mainly because they arnt high enough in google. I've tried going for niche sites and have started by buying a domain name which pretty much matches the niche phrase. Then i've written some content for my home page, about 300 words however, i dont seem to be doing that well. I appreciate that i dont have many and in some cases any backlinks but when i check the sites that are higher than mine there not even targeting the same phrase. so why are they doing better than my sites. I've had some sites about 2 years now but there still not doing anything. I'm not sure if its my articles/content or something else that i am clearly not doing. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've had a look at the Radley bags site and the bad credit site. All that you have on the Radley site are a few product descriptions, ypu could do with adding a blog where you can talk about the different products and link to them from your blog. I can't find any internal linking structure on your site and this is crucial to a well optimised site. Once you have a blog you can link to other bag/accessory sites and use trackbacks, very often people witll return the favour.

The same criticism regarding internal linking also applies to the bad credit site. You have a bit of content on the home page, I would suggest that you have a general intro to the site on the home page, the content you already have can go on the relevant pages or you can cut that down a bit and have a separate articles page with links to and from the articles and the different pages on your site. Once you've got some onsite seo like this, then backlinks should start coming, then you can use article directories to increase your back links. Pm me if you want any further help.

I was under the impression that when i was optimising my site my index page was the one which needs all the content so that the main page is the one which appears first/highest on google so everyone can see. I'm assuming from your post that it does not matter where my content is so long as it is somewhere in my site. Is that right? Also, can you give me an example of what an internal link is. All my sites are just templates which have different header images so i'm not really up to speed on seo

If your sites don't change a bit every 6/7 weeks, they are downrated as not interesting. Try adding a dummy page to each site, not linked in to the site, that changes its title every time you update. It can be a load of drivel, but it keeps the crawlers happy ...

if you want getting traffic from your site then write quality articles on particular topic on which you want to rank in the SERP and submit on different sites for back links and wait for sometime but do not stop doing the because its ongoing process.
