Noob question.

If i've just regged a new domains co.uk/org.uk how long before I can sell it on?

I keep reading something about 60 days, is that true?

You could use the "just caught this name today" ploy, giving the impression that the name was successfully caught following a previous registration, and was of some value to someone at some time.

I've seen it used a number of times here for phrases which were actually FTR on my watchlists.

Thanks for the response but I was more wondering if there is some sort of lock the domain registration companies (eg Fasthosts) put on a newly purchased site that stop you selling it on for at least 60 days?

I think that's just for TLDs. If you register a domain or move it to a new registrar you can't move it out to a new registrar. You can still do an internal transfer though.

No restriction on .uk's. I do it frequently, Only 2 days ago I sold one within a few hours of registering it (caught it but makes no difference).

I only found this problem with .coms, I don't know how many times I have regged one and listed it for sale just to withdraw it :(

Yup, definately no restirctions on uk ccTLD domains. You can reg and sell / transfer it the same day if you want to.
