i cannot think of one domain forum or one blog that hasn't slated sedo's 'promotion' of their auctions
i'm particularly talking about on the homepage when you arrive
have they taken one iota of notice?
have they ****
experienced domainers are having trouble navigating the disaster zone known as sedo.com, let alone the buying public
i dont know one domainer that is disappointed with sedos new site or thinks that the auction section should be reappointed on homepage

'if' they can find their way into 'view market activity' to find it, they will be greeted with the ending soon auctions which are about a week too old!
are they aware? no
sedo staff asleep at wheel, and management
i was going to post days ago about this but assumed someone at sedo would be on it
http://sedo.co.uk/us/home/market-activity/?tracked=&partnerid=&language=e

all these are dead auctions, and have been there days
wake up sedo, if i had an auction ending in past few days i'd be pretty disgusted with sedo and is a big reason why i never auction with sedo, i choose traffic auctions
there is n o exposure for them. they get buried
look, these are dead. been there days
see link above

627.com 3d 14h 9,999 $US

roaming.com 3d 14h 9,999 $US
titanads.com 1h 59m 999 $US
aziendeonline.com 5h 8m 200 EUR
ademor.com 6h 0m 180 EUR
lgik.com 9h 42m 70 $US
italcapital.com 10h 39m 1,800 $US

still showing! joke

i think this would be better of being homepage

also when logged in and you find your way into userpanel its so frustrating navigating it
i know david blunkett's struggling for work but you shouldnt have let him design your site !

rant over

It seems Sedo are very slow at doing anything and everything, too many domains and not enough staff.

Seems to be a 100% profit orientated business with no care for customer issues, like I pointed out the other day, in the last half a hour of the retail auction, Sedo posted several domains with current prices and a link to the auction, they didn't even check the link, if they did then they would have realised it took you to a 404 error message.

The last half a hour of a one week auction is crucial and the link took you nowhere

I think they're so big that they don't really care. The average end-user has probably never visited Sedo before and doesn't know how it "used to be" or what they're missing - all they know is that there are 20,000,000 (or whatever today's figure is) domains for sale there and that it's a "trusted" sales site. Which, if you look at how much press Sedo gets, is the impression they're likely to get, regardless of the feelings of a (relative) handful on a few domain forums.

I've been on at them for 2 years at the highest level to sort out their "UK market" feeds etc. and it's always amazed me that their marketplace truncates domain names on display so you can't even read it.

For a company making millions they could do a few simple things to make the experience better for us all.

Anyone ever figured out how to search for just .co.uk domains? When I try it say you must enter a keyword.

Same here, very f**king annoying

They offer parking but haven't got a clue about monetising for theirselves.

Wake up Sedo and listen to the domaining community because it's not Joe public who will put 50k+ domains in your site.

or pull 50k+ domains from your site if they dont treat the .uk domainers with respect.

i'm just waiting until their parking programme is investigated at the highest level
i havent used them for years
they were paying 2 cents a click in many cases for products and services where the advertiser must have been paying mid xx cents a click even into the pounds
i have read in quite a few places that even google goes 50/50 on revenue split, also yahoo gives a surprisingly big cut
so when thats split with the middleman (sedo or parked) you should get a fair slice
whenever ive used adsense as an advertiser i dont think ive ever even got an ad displaying for less than 30 cents, more often a lot more

of course it depends on the product but these were cheap

like i say i'm gonna get my head together with a few other domainers on this and share info on parking stats as i have smelled a major rat for years. i believe sedo are the worst of the worst in this area and have said the same, regardless of what 'awards'they get

this aint a witch hunt. let's just say it will be more like 'nuremberg' when it happens :D

The people with the power are those who own the domains.

If you keep using them then you are endorsing the poor service :)

Pull names, pull subforums , pull aff links to them etc etc.

Do something about it :)

You can search for .co.uk only leaving the keyword field blank as long as you select a category ie, business and you don't have to select the sub categories ie business> equipment

Hope that helps you and others

ps. it will still give you a load of crap domains though :(

Back in the day, when I was buying a reasonable number of domains on Sedo, I told my contact there that if they could pull off a list of .co.uk domains sorted by "quality" (their own measure) across all categories, I'd almost certainly buy some. Turns out their system couldn't run that query.

I used to be very pro-Sedo - and it was fun having a booth directly opposite them at Internet World 2008, we shared some laughs and I pointed some potential customers their way - but it's sad to see that they have all the maneuverability of an aircraft carrier at full steam.

However, where there's a problem, there's also (perhaps) an opportunity? For example, perhaps somebody can build a "smart front-end" on top of the Sedo API (embedded with their affiliate link, of course) to give access to the kinds of searches being outlined here.

It's almost certainly BECAUSE they make millions that any changes come glacially slow. If they were having to fight for every penny to survive, you can bet they'd be more flexible!

Perhaps Denys would consider adding something like this to domainlore, his sedo .uk auction overview is great!

Yes, that would be nice. For example, a list of new Fixed Price .co.uk listings (based on recent uploads) sorted by quality, so that one could poach any "bargains" that get listed pretty quick...
