Hello everyone!

Good news - Sedo is now offering pop-unders to SedoPro clients. This is something a lot of you requested and the pop-unders went online earlier today (Monday, 29 May 2006). The feature is automatically disabled and can be enabled on a domain-by-domain basis or for your entire portfolio in your SedoPRO account.

Pop-under ads are graphical advertisements which open in a new window beneath your parking page. Because they open beneath the parking page, pop-unders generally don't have an adverse effect on CTRs, but be aware that they could annoy some visitors and make a return visit less likely. The best way to establish whether or not pop-unders are the way to go for your domains is to try them out!

Revenue for pop-unders will be counted in the overall statistics and will be paid out on an RPM basis. The pop-unders are randomly generated by our provider and are not influenced by keywords or category selections. Different advertising campaigns will be shown in different geo-regions.

If you have any questions, your personal SedoPRO account manager would be happy to help you!

All the best,

Sedo Staff

nice feature

question to all:
is a parked page going to be negatively effected by a popunder? As a parked page its never going to be "bookmarked" so what harm can it do?
why not apply the popunder feature on all pages?

C

From what I can see from the way in which parking is developing, the time will come when people will start to bookmark parked pages to access the info they want...

Judging by the revenue it's hardly worth it at the moment. I receive 0.001 for each popunder.

Would you care to translate that from british english to north american english?

This is great news.

Most people have blockers installed. Do the pop-unders get around blockers?

pop ups

blockers block...thats what they are for....tried pop ups...so..so on it..on a uk loan site a pop up comes...big red circle with FART in centre...not very suitable for site.....question..are pop ups..random..or chosen for type of domain....someone looking for loan or credit card , may click finance type of pop up....but click off because of silly pop up..z

Hi Adam,

Many people do have pop-up blockers, but the ad partner that we are using has shown one of the highest success rates in viewership. While some browsers, namely Mozilla, are very good at blocking them, you can be assured that many of your pop-unders will still be viewed.

@Zee, one of the things we are working on is ensuring that we have the most relevant ads possible. However, based on many of the studies performed using pop-unders, we have noticed a strong correlation between certain ads and certain content. We will continue to get new pop-unders with different subjects, however, some content has shown to work quite well with domains, despite the intended content of these domains.

This is probably the same driving force that is behind the adult links appearing in your related links section for a completely unrelated domain. No matter what, you can always assume that some visitors are going to search for adult content, despite the domain name.

Let us know if you have any questions about this!

All the best,

Sedo Staff
