Sedo vs Own Site

I'm wondering whether the domainers on here who sell regularly or have sold in the past on Sedo found their buyer by:

A) Buyer simply browsing on Sedo

B) Buyer redirected from holding / sales page on domain when typed in to Sedo to make an offer

C) Marketing and promotions packs to buyer to encourage them to make an offer on Sedo


I'm sure most will say combination of all three but would be interested to know which appears to 'work' better

firstly browsing domains on sedo has become such hassle since they updated there site....it takes forever to navigate around and when you have bid on a domain it is near to impossible to navigate back to the search...it is a massive backward step and the person responsible for this terrible piece of work should never touch another site...
 
I'm split. Get a few decent offers via sedo... but i don't think you can beat a holding page with your email on... usually someone will type the domain name into the browser, and bingo, you have an easy way to contact me about my name. Answer in a quick and polite fashion and negotiate away...

Whois record and the domain landing page generates the most leads.

From experience Sedo as an entry point brings very little to the table for the .uk market (~10-15% of leads).

If you don't put a minimum price field you'll be approached with <£100 offers.

With that said, folk still put the minimum and retract their commitment just to make contact.

An advantage is to channel enquiries to a market place like Sedo to educate and to filter down the leads to the more genuine buyer (legal binding sales agreement).

Another advantage to using a professional market place is less time spent in correspondence (emails) and it removes the personal emotion in the buying and selling process (big plus from my perspective).
 
Had my own site for 2 years but recently scrapped it, only got 3 offers in 2 years, it's hard ranking for the right keywords :(

Ratboy why don't you put for sale instead of reserved, gives my impression it's in use for someone and not available.
