Ok
I have a Sedo account which was suspended several months ago due to traffic coming from a source I did not enter into.. this was a great disapointment as my account built up to about £1000 in 1 month. the said website no longer exists thankfully, hense my account has been re-instated

My question is apart from listing with sedo, what else can I do which will not upset sedo`s terms? to increase my stats??
Can I set up google groups etc
sedo if you are out there pls answer

You must have some fantastic domains to be making £1000 a month with Sedo!

If you can post your top 5 domains here - I'm sure you'll receive the correct response very quickly.

Hi Domainbandit,

Our golden rule is of course that any traffic has to be natural traffic, therefore what is important is optimising your domains well, choosing good keywords and checking to make sure your EPC doesn't fall.

Any way of artificially generating traffic is against our terms and conditions.

Please let me know if you would like any more information.

Shaun

Hi shawn,

I bought a name through sedo and my card will not work and paypal say it wants to send an e-cheque instead of using my paypal cleared funds to pay.

I have emailed you without a response.

Thanks
Sean Flynn

I had this problem the other day Sean, if its saying your card is declined then according to my bank its an intermittant problem at paypal (they'd had hundreds of calls about it) - either that or you've run out of coin :)

I tried it again later in the day and it worked fine.

Grant

If I have run out of coin then the misses is gunna get a hell of a seeing too! :)

I have the coin this time :) must be the banks or sedo :)

Hi Sean,

Sorry, I got back to work today after DomainFocus with an obscene amount of e-mails waiting for me. I'll take a look at this and e-mail you back.

Grantw you're right, this has been happening quite a lot with Paypal payments recently.

********

as for parking quality names domainbandit just get a multiple page, affiliate based site instead and get $75 instead of $0.000000000000000000007c per click

How about these
[URLwww.mr-proxy.net[/url]
www.proxy-browser.co.uk
www.filt3r.me.uk
www.bypass-filter.com
www.proxy-dog.com

these are just to start with

I have a load of other domains, a lot are for sale
your thoughts out there??:D

I think Sedo must view advertisers with utter contempt to have allowed this blatant fraud to continue over the past 3/4 years.

Every single domain and every single domain owner should be vetted before being allowed onto any parking program.

Totally agree:

My question is apart from listing with sedo, what else can I do which will not upset sedo`s terms? to increase my stats??

Firstly you should actually READ the terms and realise, as sedo have stated, that you cannot do anything to increase your stats because parked traffic should be natural, from either type-ins or existing backlinks.

I'm astounded that sedo have actually given you your account back!

Hi Everyone,

We will reopen accounts if we feel the person will change their behaviour, but reopened accounts are watched especially closely for any fake traffic. It's obviously in our interests to keep traffic as clean and honest as possible, and every effort is made to do so.

Hi Shaun,

If somebody were to place their domain that's hosted at sedo under a advertisers click program, to generate false traffic, so that the monthly stats would show really good at an auction would that violate your policies.?

If so how would you capture/monitor the culprit?
Do you monitor the source of the traffic from advertisers servers ?

Reason for all the questions is that I've come across an individual doing the above (will send you a private email with the screenpic).

If I were to bid and win the false traffic domain would'nt I be peeved that all the traffic has suddenly died. And the crook selling the domain has made a £xxxx amount of money from selling a high traffic domain.

Hi,

That would of course violate our terms and conditions. A system to better spot this kind of pre-auction traffic faking is currently being tested. We do take strong action when we discover this kind of faking, but our problem so far has been detecting it. This will hopefully change very soon!

Shaun

Hi Shaun,

Glad to hear it, suspect you will be blocking known advertising servers from accessing sedos parked pages.

It would be useful if the domains for auction would also show revenue (similar to namedrive) for the last month (or 3 months).
