seeing's as i'm such a nasty little bugger on others domain appraisals -thought it 'bout time I took a sledging.. :D

I've been thinking about this for a few years and am convinced that the development cycle of mobiles is such that a 1,2,3 year old phone will soon be so good a 'certain' market will always be interested in buying one they could not afford.

Combine with a recession - so took a punt on it for a long term project.

Was please to see this article on second mobs today though

Apparently the arse has fallen out of the .uk market so not really sure why you've even bothered registering it?? Is it too late to cancel it and get your money back?

If it’s based around others advertising there phones for sale call me cynical but most will overprice them..? Does it matter if you charge them up front if they pay..? But can see buyers being in short supply..? So maybe not sustainable

If your selling used ones yes people use sim only contracts/ PAYG but do what % of them care what the phone is ? with new ones being as little as ten pounds in many supermarkets also likely they wouldn’t want a three or two year old one… add alternatives like eBay etc don’t see it myself you’ll probably find a buyer but development..?

the arse has fallen out of the .uk market but not the second hand mobile phones (<- shamless plug) market! I would never enter this market without some small competitive edge - and who says you have to actually have to sell actually 'phones' ? ;)

It's a nice little name if you have a plan to attack the market with a slightly different "angle". With more phones than people (if not not, then soon) and sales climbing every year, there certainly will be a lot of 2nd hand mobile phones banging around.

That said, it might be worth securing the "used" version as well if you can, that way all roads lead to you, so to speak...

The name is fine but I don't think it alone will be that much of an advantage and you'll still need to do a lot of work to get anywhere.

The optimum business model is to start a phone recycling company, what are your plans?

I think there is/will definitely be a market for it and think it's worth spending time on. I'm just wondering whether I prefer usedmobilephones.co.uk ..... possibly.
