this is terrible they feel they have to waste their money on this
instead of funneling adult into one area (which it was never going to do, as .com is the default they use)
companies, organisations etc feel they have to buy a .xxx to cover their arse

even the registry is running ads telling people they need to buy one so they dont get cybersquatted
disgraceful really

and people will drop them in a year or two. what are they meant to do, keep renewing them for life?
if someone wants to squat a name there are huindreds of extensions so you cant reg them all
 
And buy them at the inflated pre launch price

Next year it will be .sex and the whole thing starts again.
 
Without all those idle defensive registrations, some registries would be seriously starving. IMO.
 
Maybe we should use this to our advantage. And buy possible .xxx names.
