After many years of negotiations I've secured my surname, I will never sell the name but would be interested to know what the appraisal would be for the domain.

It's obvious a product and family name, so possible multiple uses.

My business is called "sanders" + design and I have owned the .com for the past 5 years, I previously used the .net gTld since 2003.

Working as a freelance web developer/designer I regularly work with design and marketing agencies to create websites based on supplied visuals so felt restricted by the design suffix as I don't always "design" projects which I would like to include in my portfolio.

Having my surname works well for my small tech business. @DomainAngel your indicated appraisal is spot on. My offer was unsolicited and I made a valuation based on obtaining the domain but not paying an overinflated price based on emotion.

I now have a choice between.uk or .co.uk
