Threads with domains for sale are still getting spidered and cached in google, is this supposed to be still happening? it kind of makes resale a little difficult when the possible buyer sees what you bought it for.
 
I think the only way to stop it would be to make the forums non-viewable to non-members.

Perhaps you could look at deleting posts in the sales area that are over xx days old? That way you'd still benefit from SE traffic but unless a domain is being turned around in a matter of days it would'nt cause the problem lee mentions.
 
i dont like deleting posts and people get jumpy when i do, i will check the options there though

Fair point, but i'd imagine that if you restrict robots from the sales threads you'll lose a fair few SE visitors........
 
I would say go the noarchive route if possible. Guests to this forum are going to be potential buyers i would have thought!

I passed on the info and they have both now done deals...
