Website is for sale:

http://www.restaraunts.co.uk

and I will include restaraunt.co.uk, restaraunts.org, restaraunt.org.uk, restaraunts.org.uk with it.

£1000 for the lot.

Estibot (which hates .co.uk domains) values restaraunts.co.uk at $3900 with the total value of the 5 domains being $5945. Obviously this is the most popular misspelling of restaurants as people tend to pronounce it 'rest-a-ront' not 'rest-o-rant'.

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike are there any other stats - traffic/earnings etc?

I've never really been able to grab a hold of this one. So many domains, so little time. So there are only a couple of dozen visits a month as it's never really been worked. I put up the micro-site with the intention of using the domain in PPC ads to get people to sign up to an offer program a client asked us to push. They went out of business and I never picked it up again.

I don't have earnings either therefore because it was never monetised properly either.

Good job you noticed. I was ready to get my wallet out :D

You thought restaurants.co.uk was up for £1000? Surely not? That would be several thousands.

This is the most common (mis)spelling because it is how most people pronounce it. i.e. rest-a-ront, not rest-o-rant which is how it is spelt.

At least you've put an accurate valuation on at least one of the domains in this thread ;)

I believe when selling typos the only way is to say so in your original post, otherwise it seems as though you are trying to trick people who can't spell (not saying you were, just that's how it seems if you don't specify).

Understood. Have altered it. I find it hard to fathom why people would think restaurants.co.uk would be for sale at £1000 though?

A noobie might not realise the value, especially in the present climate where some pretty good .co.uk names are going for a lot less than 6 months ago

I know how it's spelt but I pronounce it rest-ront :)

"restraunts" is the most popular misspelling according to the keyword tool with 480 exacts, compared to only 170 for "restaraunts"

It's the same for the singulars of both:

restaraunt - 590
restraunt - 1,300

What are you using for those figures? Google keyword tool shows 14,800.

You have to set it to Locations: UK and choose "Exact" in the left-hand column. Any other figures are misleading. Systreg is right, it's 170.

So why are people not interested in the broad match? This is a one word domain, so surely broad matches are more interesting?

Broad match numbers are generally large for most terms - so the exact is a better indication of value and search.

People in the domain biz use exacts more often, and more specifically a low exact number indicates that the domain has low value based on search (but could possible have value based on something else).

Sometimes low exact match domains are useful in a niche area or targeting a high conversion/CPC market. But with exacts that low targeting an incorrectly spelt term that is auto corrected on Google would have little value to most.

So how much do you think this is actually worth?

Don't be rude for the sake of it. i.e. if you like to say things like "I wouldn't pay £1 for this!" then that is not helpful. How much do you think this is worth to someone who actually could use it?

Considering that a considerable number of people will probably not realise it's a typo, it would look good in PPC results and could increase CTR couldn't it? I use generics in PPC all the time to help reduce costs.

Who do you think could use it? asking advertiser to pay for ads on a misspell “goodkuck” with that. Then you have an affiliate site and a name that likely could never become anything other than that especially the way “g “ see them... Through in the dominance of the likes of trip advisors etc pretty much worthless till you show it makes £

Typos are generally valued on a multiple of their revenue. Endusers don't buy them and resellers don't usually pay above registration fee.

I don't think a considerable number of people would not realise it's a typo, I think the vast majority would know that that doesn't look right even if they couldn't spell it, and would then assume you were an idiot or a scammer. I personally wouldn't click on a typo domain
