Thinking great name for a user review site with Amazon feeds built in. Some sort of points system that people who contribute can cash in for "stuff" I haven't got experience in this niche nor the technical knowledge to code it so will be looking to flip. What are your thoughts on value?

Sorry - I don't rate this one very much - excuse the bad pun. I guess just because it is one word you may get a reasonable amount from another domainer that buys because they see it as a good one word name, but in terms of developing it I personally think it would need a great deal of money behind it to "brand" this name effectively and hence I can't really see it getting very far unless it was developed by a company with deep pockets, and as a brand, from a marketing perspective I can't see it being of much interest, but I could be wrong.

All feedback welcome. I do disagree with you when you say it would need a tonne of money spent on it to brand. Unless I am missing a trick, there is more than one way to skin an online cat.

I do not think that you need to spend a lot of money on brand, but perhaps some to get word of mouth out. After that it could take off real big

Hi
I agree - there are of course lots of ways to create awareness via different forms of digital marketing but my thoughts in terms of branding and the reasons I made the comment are as follows :-

1) Because it is a catch and has no age it is unlikely to carry much power from an SEO perspective hence this is set to take a very long time to take hold and in addition there is no exact match element

2) Other forms of digital marketing all cost money in one way or another if you are looking to make an impact. Although I think any site can essentially be branded to a certain degree with a smallish marketing budget, in order to create “memorability” of the domain, which is what you are essentially relying on with this one, then you need a lot of visitors. Without the help of SEO to assist in getting a lot of visitors you need to reach a lot deeper into pockets with other forms of digital marketing or offline marketing.

3) The name has no real generic memorability and therefore it is a name that will need to be installed in users minds as a “brand” in order for them to remember it and therefore this name (and ones like it) are the type of names that I think can only really work with a very big marketing budget behind them. In my view, in this instance, the name is not good enough to appeal to marketing departments as a name that they would wish to pile high sums into and create as a brand. This however could be wrong as only marketing departments can decide what is a “brand” that appeals to them, but it does not have that marketing ring to it to me.

They are my thoughts but maybe it is me that is missing something ?
