A high-profile case of a social network post making someone an accidental outlaw returned to the courts today.

In January 2010, Paul Chambers posted on Twitter that he would blow up Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport if it failed to re-open in time for him to fly to visit his new girlfriend after it was closed because of snow.

He was found guilty of sending a “menacing electronic communication” and fined almost £1,000. Chambers has now returned to court in his latest bid to appeal the conviction.
