Hi guys!

Can you help me with the appraisal of this domain: serc-dst.org
It is PR6 domain + html site which we managed to win on backorder auction.
Site has lots of high PR backlinks. What should be the price for such domain?

Eugene

Having a quick look at the PR seems genuine so that's a positive on the negative side the authoritative sites linking in seem to be Indian for the most so I'm not sure if this means the authority is only useful for sending to an Indian based project if so might effect value.
I've just completed a high xxx deal on a PR6 site done a few xx- low xxx on lower PR sites in recent months.

Thanks for your reply. What price would you set for this domain if you were selling it at Sedo?

I'm not sure if such domains sell based on PR on sedo I guess very low xxxx to leave room for negotiation.
The fact its .org so useful to worldwide projects may make this more valuable I don't know.
Maybe you could ask Murray to chime in he has more experience with these type of domains

I wouldn't put it on sedo.

Post it on a few forums like warrior forum or namepros and ask for offers.. see if anything comes in.

If you look at expiring auctions at godaddy you see people bidding on expiring domains with PR and how much they're going for.

At the moment thebanzaieffect com, PR5, 2 hours left and at £340 for example.

^ If that rubbish can sell for $550+ then I'm sure you could get $700+ somewhere for your domain which at least has some genuine links.

Most who purely buy because of page rank buy in exactly the same way as you just have? If you’ve just bought it in auction high chance that’s its price?
You may get more selling links etc rather than the name/site etc as a whole
I’ve seen them as low as xx up to xxxx prior research is often the key most end up losing the rank and any value it might have once held pretty quick, Doubt you’d even cover the commission on sedo...

What made you buy it ?

I actually had this domain backordered as well and when it went to auction I completely forgot to bid on it thanks to the England - New Zealand game.

I probably would have bid £200 tops but that's only because I'm not in any desperation to grab high pr expired domains as they come and go all the time so I'll just see what's available the next day.

There are of course people that will pay a lot more so you're bound to make on it although I don't know what your winning bid was.
