I have the following geo sites for sale as a group. Each site offers news, weather, events and a business directory for the town.
Bridgend.com. Bridgend is the county town of the same name. An approximate population of 40K for the town, and 134,000 for the county. The site is PR3, ranks 3 in Google for "bridgend" and has many other high rankings, number 1 for "bridgend pubs" for example. First published in 2008 it has had 28.5K pageview in the last month, from 11K visitors. It shows steady growth in visits, and was unaffected by penguin.
Cwmbran.com. Cwmbran is a new town in Wales, with an approx. population of 47K. The site ranks 3 in G for "cwmbran", 1 for "cwmbran pubs" etc. Newer than Bridgend.com, in the last month it has 7.5K pageviews, from 2.7K visitors and shows steady growth.
There are 5 other sites using the same system that have only been launched this year, they show another 6K pageviews between them; pontypridd.com (population 30k), neath.com (population 47k), porttalbot.co.uk (population 36k), pontypool.co.uk (population 36K), haverfordwest.co.uk (population 11K).
If you check the locations on the map they are pretty tightly grouped so as to form a local network, and are brand under the group name Town Focus - also included.
The system behind it is custom built using ASP/ASP.NET/SQL Server (Express) and is designed to be easy to roll out over different domains. As set currently they are in high maintenance mode, using a separate twitter account for each and a separate events database for each - this is easily changed to low maintenance by removing these and can be done prior to sale. The business data is rented (paid up until June end), or can scraped or self populated by the purchaser. The news and weather feeds are automatic and free.
Also included in the sale is the following domains, all exact match geos for Welsh towns, on which the same system could be installed:
dinaspowys.co.uk
magor.co.uk
neyland.co.uk
aberdare.net
abergele.net
aberystwyth.net
ammanford.net
caephilly.net
cwmbran.net
chepstow.net
haverfordwest.net
llanelli.net
neath.net
pontypool.net
porttalbot.net
rhyl.net
I'm happy to open the Google analytics for any serious enquiries, and would be happy to assist in transition or changes to the code. I'm looking for low £xx,xxx offers for the lot - less than the price paid for the domains themselves.
Any enquiries by PM please. Cheers.
