was looking up fishing.net after a joky chat with a mate, and then tried a few phishing related sites - surprised to see two available.

phishing.plc.uk ; phishing.ltd.uk are currently just parked no website

PM offers please

Buyers pay Nominet transfer fees

so you own the 2 above do you?

as phishing.ltd.uk is free to reg.

No match for "phishing.ltd.uk".

This domain name has not been registered.

Not parked.

You could do what a few Acorn forum members do and register LTD companies and secure the .ltd.uk domain . I believe you have to put an @ sign somewhere in the name eg "@ Phishing Ltd" would secure you the Phishing.ltd.uk

Try a few decent keywords in ltd.uk to see what I mean, I am sure if you gave them a shout they would give further info/advice.

newbie mistake. am sorting it out now.

will start new thread when I have got it sorted

You can only register these if you are Phishing Ltd or Phishing PLC.

I'd save your time and money and not bother setting up a PLC for it.

or:
@ phishing ltd
@ phishing @ ltd

etc etc :)

incidently, are there any other symbols nominet ignore?

Hey everyone.

thanks for your help. I have decided to just cancel the registration (I did consider setting up a company but really couldn't see it would add value - and seemed a little serious)

this seems a really good forum so I'll see you about - but for now will slink away.

can anyone comment on .name extensions - does anyone bother with them??

Considering the new content of the thread I have moved it to: 'Domain Research'

Suggest you don't!

I suggest registrants don't register names with an @ sign to get hold of a domain name ending ltd.uk and plc.uk as I have successfuly appealed such a decision to the Secretary state.

Indeed, you could be subject to a civil action for damages.

Furthermore, the Companies Act is being changed to close this loop hole. In the meantime it cost time and money but is likely to be recoverable under a civil action.

If you have done so it maybe best that you dissolve the company ASAP before action starts.

Furthermore, this is not like a DRS....it costs nothing to Appeal a companies house decision.

Not sure I'd want to be known as

..a director of phishing ltd.

Might require a number of embarassing conversations with the boys in blue :)
